Hope Rock Mike & GregHarrisburg, PA (May 12, 2010) – Cancer Recovery Foundation, a Harrisburg-based non-profit group of charities, dedicated to providing integrative cancer prevention and survival strategies worldwide, has installed a physical symbol of hope for all cancer patients – The Hope Rock.

On Tuesday, May 11, 2010, the 2.5 ton Vermont granite rock was delivered by Gingrich Memorials of Middleton and installed predominantly at Cancer Recovery Foundation Group of Charities’ International headquarters.

The six foot stone structure features the sandblasted Rules of Hope.  Rule 1: There is always hope!  Rule 2: If someone says there is no hope, re-read Rule 1.

Additionally, a commemorative plaque which is dedicated to cancer patients around the world was mounted at the base of the rock, dedicating the granite symbol to anyone ever affected by cancer.

Diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer in 1984 and given a 30-day prognosis, Founder & CEO of Cancer Recovery Foundation, Greg Anderson, has devoted his life to supporting cancer patients worldwide.

“Hope truly is a powerful force.  It always prevails,” said Anderson.  “Even if a doctor tells you there is no hope for a cure, you hope anyway.  If your family and friends tell you there is no hope for recovery, you hope still.  It changes everything and puts an end to suffering and truly creates wellness no matter what our state of physical health.”

Anderson’s internationally-recognized Survival Pyramid for cancer patients and caregivers incorporates integrated cancer care (medical, nutrition, exercise, attitude, support and meaning and purpose), which is now used for patient and health education worldwide.  Additionally, he is the author of eleven publications and has established affiliate organizations in five other countries.

“This Hope Rock is something very personal to me,” stated Anderson.  “Throughout my journey towards wellness I credit hope, the tremendous power of hope as the fundamental reason I am alive today.  It is my hope that this Hope Rock brings inspiration and optimism to people all around the world.”

Headquartered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Cancer Recovery Foundation Group of Charities is a global group of publicly-supported 501(c)3 non-profit organizations whose mission is to help all people prevent and survive cancer as well as to enhance a cancer patient’s support network.  Currently, these affiliates are located in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and France.  The organizations offer programs for adults which implement whole-person cancer prevention and survival strategies through research, advocacy, education and support.  Additionally, an integrated cancer care message is delivered to women experiencing breast cancer.  A children’s program provides mental, social and emotional support to children under the age of 18 and their families who are experiencing a cancer diagnosis.  For more information regarding Cancer Recovery Foundation or its affiliates, please call 1.800.238.6479 or visit www.cancerrecovery.org today.

Cancer Recovery Foundation International (CRFI) is a group of global affiliated charities, founded by „The Wellness Authority‟ Greg Anderson in 1984. Cancer Recovery Foundation’s mission is to help all people prevent and survive cancer through “integrated cancer care” which Anderson pioneered. The Foundation is currently established in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Germany. The organization is recipient of the “5-Star Best in America Award.”

Greg Anderson was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer in 1984. His surgeon gave him just 30 days to live. Refusing to accept the hopelessness of this prognosis, he went searching for people who had lived even though their doctors had told them they were “terminal.” His findings from interviews with over 16,000 cancer survivors form the strategies and action points for what has become an international cancer recovery movement. Anderson is the author of eleven books including international Best Sellers The Cancer Conqueror; Cancer: 50 Essential Things to Do; and The 22 (Non-Negotiable) Laws of Wellness. His writings have been translated into 31 languages.
